I edit books for nonfiction publishers, working directly with authors and managing editors to make sure books are in their best shape before they hit the shelves! With developmental editing, I use an overview letter and manuscript comments to give authors advice about how to refine their book’s goal, audience, tone, content, and organization so that their vision can be realized (and sometimes even diving into extensive source footnotes to make sure everything is lined up and in order!).
